Feature 1

A week following the MSU shooting that left 3 dead and others injured, a press conference was held announcing classes would resume. There was an event held on campus called Spartan Sunday later that day so we also stopped by post-press conference. I operated Josh Alburtus’ live-shot, shot and edited all video seen not in studio.

Feature 2

After getting his leg amputated due to strep/flu, Kaden Stevenson is invited behind the scenes of Monster Jam. Shot opening standup and most shots of the event beside the 3-shot of the drivers, the closeup of Kaden and Grave Diggers driver, and the rehab facility footage from another day. Edited by Matt Gard.

Fire at Zion United Methodist Church in Ionia, built in 1886. The church was having a movie night following their weekly community dinner when the flames were seen coming from the second floor. Nobody was injured thankfully but I did talk to someone inside at the time. All video seen and interview shot/conducted/edited by me.

Feature 4

The first major sporting event, a women’s basketball game at the Breslin, returned to East Lansing after the February shooting. We talked to a couple of fans who told us why they thought it was important to come out to the game that day. Shot and edited all video not in studio and ran Josh’s live-shot.
